Boba Fett Supreme Edition Adult Costume Reviews

Put Captain Solo in the cargo hold!

Well, I purchased this new  Boba Fett costume and had a problem with the first one as the jet pack was cracked in several spots. The costume was replaced  and I received it in time for my Halloween party. Two of the pieces had to be reglued as they had come loose in shipping but this was a minor problem. Some of the velcro on the gauntlets also had to be reglued. The only other improvement I made was darkening the tint on the helmet as you could see your face. The costume takes some time to put on as the plastic armor pieces and jet pack are attached with either velcro or straps. Other than the boots which are not included, the costume is as shown on the site. All in all, it's a pretty cool costume!

The costume has a distinct lack of quality control given the high price. It can be fixed though, as I'll detail below. Problems: - The missile and tubing on the guantlets was attached with just hot glue and they had come off. - The l plastic loop in the butt armour was detached (hot glue problem again). - The paint job on the armour, jetpack and helmet would be OK if they hadn't gone crazy with the silver paint. The dent in the helmet looks like a starburst and the simulated scrathes on the jetpack are comical. - The velcro on the tubing is not well secured, the same can be said of alot of the velcro on the armour parts. - The chest armour is flat rather than curved, makes it difficult to secure it to the vest. - The Jetpack is made from two molded parts and they are very poorly mated together, results in very uneven joints, etc. - Helmet visor is not dark enough and your face can be seen. Fixes: - Use auto window tint on the inside of the visor so your face cannot be seen. - Reinforce the lower face parts of the helmet with fiberglass tape and resin (it's really thin plastic) and repaint the helmet. - Use bondo on the jetpack to fix the seams. Sand and repaint. - Fix the gaunlets by reattaching the rocket and tubing using glue and a couple of screws. - Heat the body armour with a hairdryer, it can then be shaped to fit properly. Also, it's thin plastic, reinforce with fiberglass tape and resin. - Reaffix all the velcro with glue, it's not well secured otherwise. As you can see, it's a fair amount of work to fix it up considering the high price tag. More attention to detail and this might actually have been a pretty good costume out of the box.

    Boba Fett - History

Boba Fett is a character in Star Wars. A bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader to find the Millennium Falcon, he is a major villain in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (1980). Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) establishes Boba Fett's back story as a clone of Jango Fett, a bounty hunter who raises Boba as a son. The Star Wars Expanded Universe expands on Fett's origins and career as a bounty hunter. Fett's air of danger and mystery have created a cult following for the character, who has been merchandised across multiple media. Fett might be part of the live-action Star Wars series under development

    Promotions and early depictions

Boba Fett first appeared at the September 20, 1978, San Anselmo Country Fair parade.[3] The character appeared on television several weeks later, animated by Nelvana Studios for The Star Wars Holiday Special (1978) as a mysterious figure who betrays Luke Skywalker (voiced by Mark Hamill),ChewbaccaC-3PO (voiced by Anthony Daniels), and R2-D2, after being revealed to be Darth Vader's right-hand man.[3][4] After his image and identity were revealed in The Star Wars Holiday Special, costumed Fett characters appeared in shopping malls and special events, putting up "Wanted" posters of the character to distinguish him from the franchise's Imperial characters.[5] The character also appears in Marvel ComicsStar Wars newspaper strip.

    Boba Fett in Film

Fett is the "next major villain" after Darth Vader (James Earl Jones/David Prowse) in The Empire Strikes Back. Fett tracks the Millennium Falcon to Cloud City, where Vader captures its passengers and tortures its captain, Han Solo (Harrison Ford). Wanting to collect a bounty on Solo from Jabba the Hutt, Fett confronts Vader about whether Solo will survive. Vader's decision not to elevate the confrontation marks the only time a character other than Emperor Palpatine makes Vader "quail".
Fett is at Jabba's palace in Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (1983) when Solo's rescuers are captured, and he travels on Jabba's sail barge to the sarlacc pit, where the prisoners are to be executed. He attempts to intervene when the prisoners mount an escape, but Solo accidentally activates Fett's rocket pack, sending the bounty hunter crashing into Jabba's ship and tumbling into the Sarlacc's mouth, supposedly to his death...
Fett appears in a scene added to the Special Edition version of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1997), appearing briefly outside the Millennium Falcon with Jabba the Hutt. Fett was added to several scenes altered for Return of the Jedi Special Edition (1997).
In Attack of the Clones, Boba Fett (Daniel Logan) is a child clone of bounty hunter Jango Fett (Temuera Morrison), who is raising Boba as a son. Boba helps the bounty hunter escape from Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor), but later witnesses Jango's decapitation by Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson)
